Needless to say, the long list of health-supporting functions shown for nano<mHAP> add up to overall anti-caries protection. This was demonstrated clinically in field trials carried out in Japan, and recognized by Japanese heath authorities in approving SANGI's ingredient as an active anti-caries agent in 1993. Among primary schoolchildren using the nano-hydroxyapatite toothpaste once daily under teacher supervision for a number of years, the reduction in caries was 17% in a group using it for one year, and as great as 36% and 56% respectively in two groups using it for 3 years, compared with a placebo toothpaste without nano-hydroxyapatite.
